PlateGlance

PlateGlance Terms of Use

Effective date: October 21, 2026

PlateGlance is a product of VoidInWorks LLC ("we", "us"). Contact: support@plateglance.com.

By using PlateGlance you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms are in addition to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If the two conflict, Apple's terms control for the matters Apple's terms cover.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use PlateGlance. PlateGlance is offered in the United States. By using the app you confirm that you are 18 or older.

What PlateGlance is, and what it is not

PlateGlance estimates calories and nutrients from photos, typed descriptions, restaurant menus and product barcodes. Estimates come from AI and a public database, and they can be wrong. You can edit every number before you log it.

PlateGlance is for general wellness tracking. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for advice from a doctor or registered dietitian. Talk to a professional before you change your diet or exercise, especially if you are pregnant, managing a medical condition, taking medication, or have or may have an eating disorder. We do not promise any weight, health or fitness result. Daily targets are general estimates from the details you enter, and you can change them.

Menu Mode suggests dishes from a menu photo that fit your remaining calories and protein. It tries to leave out drinks, dishes that appear to contain alcohol or pork, and anything you type under "anything to avoid". It cannot see the kitchen and can miss or misread ingredients. Do not rely on PlateGlance for food allergies, intolerances, medical diets or religious dietary rules. Ask the restaurant.

PlateGlance does not log alcoholic drinks.

Barcode data

Barcode product data comes from Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), a database made by contributors and available under the Open Database License. It may be incomplete or wrong. Check the package.

Subscriptions

Free use and fair use

Free users get 3 AI scans in total (photo, typed or menu scans), plus unlimited barcode and manual logging. Reinstalling the app does not reset the free scans. To prevent abuse we also limit free AI scans per network address per day, so free scans on a shared network may run out sooner. Subscribers have a fair-use limit of 10 AI scans per day, to keep the service running for everyone. A scan only counts if it returns a result. Limits can change; we will show the current limit in the app.

Your content

Photos and text you submit stay yours. You give us permission to process them, including by sending them to our AI provider, only to produce your estimate and run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You promise you have the right to submit what you submit, and that you will not submit anything unlawful or other people's private information.

Acceptable use

Do not bypass limits or payment, reverse engineer or copy the service, use bots or automated scripts, probe or attack our servers, resell access, or use the app for anything unlawful or to harm others.

Our rights

PlateGlance, its name, logo, design and software belong to VoidInWorks LLC or its licensors. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use under these terms.

Third-party services

The app uses services from Apple, Anthropic, RevenueCat, Cloudflare and Open Food Facts. They are not responsible for PlateGlance and we are not responsible for their services.

Apple terms

These terms are between you and VoidInWorks LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no duty to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance or privacy. If the app fails to meet a warranty, you may tell Apple to refund the purchase price to the extent the law requires, and Apple has no other warranty duty for the app. We, not Apple, are responsible for those claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not in a country under a US embargo or on a US list of restricted parties.

Disclaimer and liability

PlateGlance is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we do not promise that estimates are accurate or that the service will be uninterrupted or error free, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on estimates. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Ending use

You can stop using the app any time. We can suspend or end access if you break these terms or misuse the service. Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you have a problem, please email support@plateglance.com first and give us 30 days to work it out. If we cannot, any claim must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you and we consent to those courts. This does not take away any rights you have under consumer protection laws where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the effective date, and for changes that matter we will tell you in the app before they apply. If you keep using the app after the change, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
